The Trespassers, 1962

The first time I ever sang with a live band was at a strictly unauthorized

high school era party (outdoors), where my classmates and best friends,

The Trespassers, were playing, and I 'sat in', as they say.

Although we were all underage, as far as drinking was concerned, we drank

some beers and I felt the urge to sing some Joe Turner lyrics.

Band Members, left to right, top image: Chuck Smith, bass, Ned Engelhart, guitar,

Marty Anderson, guitar, and Dave Nightingale

(son of Chicago radio announcer Earl Nightingale) on drums.

The Trespassers 45 pictured above came out in 1962, probably 500 copies.

My friend Marty was also responsible for teaching me how to play bass guitar.
